Samsung Tv does not connect to orbi RB850

Hi Brains trust,

I set up my new ORBI Mesh router and satellite RB850 last night and I have not been able to connect my Samsung Tv to the Orbi.

I see that there is lots of similar comments on here and I have tried the suggestions in here to no luck. I have also spent considerable time on the phone with support and had no luck. I am no means a technical wizard but I was very doubtful of some of the things I was being advised after several things turned out to be incorrect from their "expert".

I have a fiber connection and using my ISP (Telstra smart modem 2) router due to having a phone line and 4G outage back up. I have configured the ISP router to no WIFI, Orbi in AP mode first not wanting a potential double NAT situation no joy, Tech expert has me put them back into router mode, still no joy.

Configured DMZ to IP address, no joy.

Firmware updated the Orbi system to 7.2.7.15 no joy.

Used IOT, Guest WIFI etc networks, no joy

Reset tv and wifi networks, no joy.

Ive widened the CTS/RTS to the 2347, no joy.

Tried manually configuring the IP and Gateway on TV, no joy.

DHCP is enabled.

This is extremly frustrating, please any further advice to resolve this would be most appreciated.

  • Orbi 'mode' has no bearing on WiFi connections. ('router' or 'access point' (AP)  WiFi devices connect the same way.)

    • Do any other WiFi devices have difficulty connecting?  (This Samsung TV is the only device that will not connect?)
    • Are there any unusual characters in either the WiFi name (SSID) or password?
    • How is the Orbi system configured in terms of satellites connecting to the router?  (using the default WiFi connection?  or with satellites 'wired' to the router?)
    • If 'wired' how are the units connected?  (all to the Telstra?  any switches involved?)

No other device has had issue connecting to the Orbi just the samsung tv.

No unusual characters in SSID or password

Satellite is WIFI connection and I have tried turning the satellite off.

      No switches are involved.

Which specific model of Samsung TV?

(presume the TV was working correctly with the previous WiFi system?  When I replace WiFi systems, I always use exactly the same WiFi credentials on the new system (SSID/password).  Not interested in reconnecting 40+ WiFi gizmos.  With the same credentials, they 'just connect'.)
