Suddenly a bit lower speeds from router (Orbi 853)
Orbi 853. FW: 7.2.7.15 (Had this issue also with 7.2.6.21)
Not sure if there is a problem. Hopefully I explain it understandable as I am not very technical.
The recent days I have experienced lower speed from my Orbi 853.
It has worked flawlessly so far. (For years now now)
The ISP router is connected straight from that Icotera router and into my ORBI 850 router and from there wirelessly connected to my two 850 sattelites. No problem at all.
But speed is lower than normal which I found strange.
So I did some testing.
If I put the same CAT7 LAN cable from my ISP router and direcly to my pc it shows full bandwich, so the issue is not the speed from my connection in the house.
If I use same CAT7 cable from ORBI 850 router and directly to my pc it looses speed.
Somehow the connection from my ISP router to the Orbi router takes some of the bandwich?
Speed test on pc cabled from ISP router aprox 900 mbit, but when testing directly to pc from Orbi 853 router its apx. 200 mbit lower. Its also lower when testing speed via my Orbi app which measures directly from 850 router.
It seems the decrease in bandwich when these two units are connected.
I use the same ports as always on the ISP router - But tried changing port.
How can that be? And is there a setting I have missed? If not in ORBI then in Icotera i4850?
(Full restart and change in cables already tried)

If your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

Try option #2 first...- Eriksen76Apprentice
Thanks I will try to contact my ISP regarding bridge mode.
I already disabled everything regarding wifi in the ISP router. On the display WIFI symbol does not light up either.
Regarding #2. Can't seem to find anywhere to do this:
"configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem."
These are the options I have.
Ask the ISP about the DMZ or IP pass thru. Hopefully it has one of those features.
Might give AP mode a try with the ISP rouoter and see if speeds are better...

Thank you very much for your input.
Since yesterday my ORBI is connected directly to the Fiber Box, upload speed increased but downstream still pretty low.
That removed the double NAT ussue.
I read in a forum that regarding my ISP its better to connect their router between fiber box and ORBI but to put their router in bridge mode.
I spoke with my ISP support, and they told me that my Isotera ISP router no longer supports bridge mode.
I will visit them today and swich to another one (Nokia G6). In that one it should be possible to switch to bridge mode.
Lets see how that goes.
