Upgrade AC2200 to AXE 11000
Want to upgrade old RBR40 and three RBR20 satellites to the new 960 series. Question I have is about number of satellites for size of house. Have 3200sq ft L shape house. The current package was for 8000sq ft. Current router connected to ISP modem at the angle of the L. One satellite at the long end of the L and one upstairs above garage (end of short end of L). Third is near backyard for outdoor coverage. Satellites are all wirelessly connected to router. With the new quad band 6E could I get away with router and 1 satellite (6000sq ft) or should I consider 2 satellites (9000sq ft)? The room above garage requires its own satellite because signal from router too weak up there. Wondering if new system stronger to possibly eliminate that satellite. Thanks.
Maybe?
Its hard to 100% say because while the AX system has a little more coverage, it didn't really boost that coverage by adding additional broadcast power. It was done through a little more efficiency. So if you had trouble penetrating the walls/floor before with the old system, you'll still have it a bit with the new.
So we can't really say 100% that sure you go remove one of the satellites. All we can do is say "maybe".
