Use ORBI to Connect MR1100 Hot Spot Router to LAN

We presently have a wired LAN, with about 40 ports, that goes to to two 24-port ethernet switches, and then to an ATT DSL modem.  We want to change to ATT wireless internet service, and ATT sent us a MR1100 mobile hotspot router to connect to their wireless service.  I have connected the hotspot router to the ATT wireless service, but the wireless connection is very poor in our house.  I am thinking about adding an ORBI router and satellites to expand the wireless reception in our house, which is about 3,500 sq ft.  If I add an ORBI router and satelites, and connect them through the existing ethernet switches to provide an ethernet backhaul connection, how to I connect the MR1100 router to get internet service to non-wireless computers on the LAN?  I am assuming that it would be better to connect the MR1100 to the ORBI router through ethernet, rather than using wireless.  Correct?  We would then use the ORBI wireless network in the house for wireless devices, and maintain the LAN, with internet, for non-wireless devices.  Correct?

  • correct.

    you'd want to go MR1100-->orbi router--->switches/satellites/devices.

    the mr1100 has integrated router as well as the orbi. What is Double NAT? | Answer | NETGEAR Support

    so you can put the mr1100 in passthrough mode and leaving the routing to the orbi or leave the MR1100 in router mode and put orbi in access point mode.
