VPN Issue on RBR750

I am using an RBR750 v.31 firmware and enabled the VPN last night and downloaded the config file.  I have been through the TAP/TUN issues and modified the config file on the client.  I am currently stuck and not receiving an IP via DHCP from the server and get the error that ifconfig or ifconfig_v6 needs to be enabled.  It appears that these options need to be enabled on the server side as it will not let me specify an IP in the client config file telling me that the server needs to push it.  Is there an advanced VPN screen that we can set additional options?  I did not see a place to define the DHCP pool for VPN specifically, but maybe I missed it.  The RBR is acting as a router currently and handling DHCP locally without issue.

What is the client? (Windows, smartphone, etc.)

Is the config file now set to tap or tun?  I have an RBR750 with VPN enabled and find that the tun connection is the only one that works for me with Windows.

I am testing with a Windows 11 machine.  The config is set to TUN.  I went through it again and there are really no settings to adjust beyond port.  I wish they made it a lot more user configurable.  I am used to Fortinet and Sonicwall firewalls (this replaced a Sonciwall).

Which version of OpenVPN are you using?

(I have OpenVPN v2.6.12.  I believe there are issues with OpenVPN version 3 client and the OpenVPN Host installed on Netgear routers.)

As you know, the ports are configurable and must match.  On my Orbi, tun is set to TCP/UDP port 12973 (the default).

I wanted to reply back here after getting it fixed.  I actually got it fixed shortly after my last post and forgot to post it.  It was indeed the port mismatch and ran fine after correcting the port number in the OpenVPN config file.  To be honest, the VPN setup on these leaves a lot to be desired. I understand that they wanted to make it simple to configure, but they failed.  I would prefer all the settings be configurable in the router, but lacking that, I wish the router config download worked as intended without having to be manually modified.  I really doubt that people without experience will get it running.  This should have been addressed in a firmware update.
