If this still happens after you update the firmware, then it would be good to know
- Whether you are connecting to work-related zoom conferences, or whether these are personal. Some companies host their own Zoom servers, and it would be good to know if that is a possibility here.
- Your ISP and internet connection type (fiber, cable, satellite,mobile broadband). Some ISPs will dynamically adjust your upload and download speeds, and that could also explain what you are seeing.

I'll try the firmware update next - after following a few of the suggestions - especially the VPN as this is work related - Zoom is a work app not personal.
ISP is Optus - NBN which is via Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC nbn). The nbn connetion box - Network Termination Device (Arris CM8200) - is owned by our National Broadband Network and specific to my apartment's address, so I connect the Orbi RBR into the NTD via its WAN connection.
