The MacBook Pro M4 WiFi is 6E (802.11ax), which does support 6Ghz connections. However 6GHz is much more sensitive to distance and building material than 5GHz.

On many Windows systems, there is an option in the WiFi settings to enable/disable each of the wireless bands. If the MacBook has a similar feature, it might be worth experimenting by disabling 6GHz and observing if the speed changes.

thank you I have turned off 6 g on my laptop. I wonder if I have a bad satellite. It kept disconnecting from the router and now, even thought it is on the same floor with only 1 wall between it and the hub, it says the connection is poor:
