Guest Network Issue
I have an Orbi970 with 4 satellites. I have the guest network setup and whilst I can see the SSID nothing will connect to it. Any connection attempt just continues without error or success until I ...

Have resolved my issues. Might help others so here are my fixes:
1: Guest WiFi not working when wired into my cisco switch.
Fix: Per the support sheet passed on to me by Furrye38 this was resolved by applying VLAN ID 4091 to the ports used by the RBS and RBR.
2: Odd and erratic performance issues.
Fix: It turned out my switch had a root bridge setting to use a Sky TV box so all traffic was going here rather than the switch acting as the root bridge. This was reset to using the switch itself.
3: Connectivity to some web pages would not function or would be incredible slow when my PC used a wired connection but was fine when using WiFi.
Fix: This was caused by IPv6 being enabled on my ethernet adapters but disabled on the WiFi adapter. Disabling IPv6 on the ethernet adapters resolved this. A better solution for this issue would be to disable IPv6 on the internal LAN of the RBR970 as otherwise I need to disable on all devices. Is there a way of doing this?

Hi Kevin,
I factory reset the RBE970 and the Guest WiFi worked again.
Unfortunately it has now stopped again with the same error - or no error just tries to connect but never does. Unfortunately I don't actually know how long it did work for as once it worked I didn't try and connect to it again until today.

So What is brand and model# of this swtich that is connected between the RBR and RBS?
So try this, turn OFF all RBS accept for one, ethernet connect one RBS directly behind the RBR. Let it fully sync. After it syncs, stand near to the RBS with one wireless device. Attempt to connect the device to the Guest Network. Doe it connect correctly with this one RBS ethernet connected to the back of the RBR?
Let us know this result please.

I saw a thread where it was suggested that this method could cause issues and to use the backhaul instead. The Router then died so couldn't test that theory but with the replacement I am using backhaul between them all so no cables or switches, other than the one connected to the Router for my hardwired devices

Switch - Cisco SG-300 28B (no management enabled)
I turned off all RBS's. Guest WiFi worked. Turned the closest RBS back on but using the backhaul not wired. Guest WiFi remains. Turned all remaining RBS on using backhaul not wired. Guest WiFi remains. Went wired - Guest WiFi stops. If I use a WiFi analyser I can see it is broadcasting but can't connect to it. Given my previous issues using a wired link on a different switch (40Gb switch) it feels that there are issues when using a wired connection??

Please give this a try,
Remove the Cisco switch.
Turn OFF ALL RBS but one.
Directly ethernet connect this one RBS to the back of the RBR.
Test the Guest Network at the RBS.
Your switch is a managed switch: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/small-business-smart-switches/data_sheet_c78-610061.html

So, it's not a simple in my setup to 'unplug the switch'. I'd need to get an RJ45 coupler to do as you have suggested.
Instead I plugged in the 8port 10Gb switch I purchased with the original intension of linking the RBR and RBS's via their 10Gb port (which seemed to have it own problems!)
Doing this has resolved the Guest Wifi access! This makes no sense to me given the SSID was being broadcast and indeed the main WiFi and IOT SSID both worked.
Yes the Cisco switch is managed but as I said there is no management in place. Further, prior to purchasing the 'upgrade' I had a very similar setup with 5 x tri-band Linksys MX5300 (also Netgear) and this has been running without issue for a number of years. I'm not having a great experience with this considering it's meant to be state of the art and cost £3,300 for the router and satellites alone. Seems pretty flaky for something that's been on the market for a number of years now.
