I have a 970 that doesnt see close to linespeed with overhead taken into account

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? 
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended. 

GFibers is the ISP you are with? 

I presume you are speed testing with a ethernet connected PC capable of also high connection rates, i.e. 10Gb? 

What was speed results seen at the PC and when using the RBR onboard speed test app?
