I'm having signal drops and no reconnection on a Pixel 9 w/WiFi 7 & a laptop with 6E
There appears to be new issue with latest available firmware, or possibly a regression of the previous issue. I'm having signal drops and no reconnection on a Pixel 9 w/WiFi 7 & a laptop with 6E.
I am not seeing the satellite/router reboot issue when this occurs, so probaly a new issue.
It seems the hand-off from the router to/from satellites fails and the device times out the connection. Only disabling/re-enabling the device WiFi will allow a reconnection.
This happens a couple of times a day in certain locations around the house. Presumably where signal overlap makes locking onto one or another access point is a toss up regarding which has the strongest signal. This doesn't happen with 5GHz/2.4GHz devices and there are no options that I can find to disable 6GHz in the advanced configuration. There is no mention of 6GHz anywhere.
I did recently re-enable IPv6 and have turned that back off again to see if that helps...
Overall my 6mos experience with the RBE97x is meh. Not worth the ludicrous price over many cheaper and more mature 6E mesh routers from numerous other vendors.
Not sure this all on Netgear though. I can believe that Broadcom's chip and their reference firmware is the root of the problems.
