Orbi 770 (EU) region change

I have the Orbi 750 which I'm thinking about upgrading to a 3-pack of Orbi 770.

As I will be using it both in Norway and part of the year in Canada, is it possible to change the region in the web gui on the EU-version of the 770 like I can with the Orbi 750?

No. Region is auto selected now based on ISP serivces.

Page 64 of the RBE771 user manual describes how to change the Region setting.

    This statement is perhaps unexpected:

I have never found documentation explaining why Netgear would prevent users from changing the Region setting on a product they had purchased (and one might argue "belongs to them").

One hypothesis might be that this particular model was designed to conform to radio regulations specific to a particular part of the world and would not conform to regulations in some other areas.

Another hypothesis might be that marketing agreements specify that products shipped to some locations are not to be moved to other locations to prevent interfering with other sales agreements.

In the absence of documentation, No one knows.

Nothing prevents you from moving this WiFi system back and forth between Norway and Canada.  While in (the other place) the system may not conform to the WiFi regulations.

For example, some WiFi channels may be allowed in North America and not in Europe (or vice-versa).  Permissible signal levels may be different.

If you are within the magic "90 days of complimentary support" it might be interesting to open a ticket with Netgear to inquire how to move this system between locations.
