Remove 770 satellite
I was trying to add an RBE770 satellite wirelessly to my network, but something went wrong halfway through the installation. When I log into the admin interface, the satellite is shown in grey with the status "Config Sync", and it has been stuck like that for the past 12 hours. I decided to factory reset the satellite and start over, but I can't remove it from the list of connected devices. I have powered the satellite off and then tried to remove it, but neither the web interface nor the app gives me a "Remove" option. What should I do? At the moment, I can't add the satellite again because the system won't detect it.Orbi 770, ipv6, Gigaclear - works then drops
I'm trying to get my Orbi 770 to have a stable ipv6 connection with my ISP Gigaclear. Initially it works, then it doesn't. The Orbi 770 is running Firmware Version V10.5.20.10_2.2.51 My connection to Gigaclear is via a new DKT Comega ONT. I have a static IPv4 address from Gigaclear. On the Orbi web UI, I have these IPv6 settings: Internet Connection Type: Auto Config DHCP User Class: blank DHCP Domain Name: blank Router's IPv6 Address On WAN: Not Available Use These DNS Servers: Primary DNS 2606:4700:4700:0000:0000:0000:0000:1111 (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1) Secondary DNS 2620:00FE:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:00FE (9.9.9.9) LAN Setup Router's IPv6 Address On LAN 2a06:61c0: etc etc IP Address Assignment: Auto Config Enable RIPng (off) Use This Interface ID: blank IPv6 Filtering: Secured My Windows 11 PC, connected via ethernet to one of the Orbi Satellites 1. Gets a proper IPv6 address 2. Scores 10/10 on https://test-ipv6.com/ My Samsung S25, connecting via wifi 7 or 6 or 5 1. Gets a proper IPv6 address 2. Scores 10/10 on https://test-ipv6.com/ Even my Linux VM scores 10/10. But then after some hours (more than 4 less than 24), the IPv6 fails and the https://test-ipv6.com/ scores become 0/10 on all devices. I've spoken to Gigaclear. The person on the phone was not aware of any special settings or issues. They are passing this to network engineers. Can this be fixed? I've tried: 1. Turning on / off everything 2. Changing Internet Connection Type: Auto Config DHCP User Class: blank to Internet Connection Type: DHCP DHCP User Class: 1 For a while it works, then it doesn't.Orbi 770 3 pack failure
My orbi 773 purchased 9 months ago has failed on me. Only the WAN port works. the LAN wired ports work, won't connect to any satellite wired or wirelessly, and internet only works when it's just the router itself, but only works on the 2.4GHz spectrum. No 5 or 6GHz output or connections. Tried factory reset, tried reinstall firmware, tried downgrade firmware. Wasted so much time on this. I've submitted a ticket several days ago, but have yet to hear anything, which my significant other is LIVID about. So I decided to come here to try and get some movement on my ticket, xxxxxxxx. SYSTEM - Orbi RBE771 router (v1) + 2x RBE770 satellites - Firmware V10.5.20.10_2.2.51 on all three units (current; auto-update enabled) - Satellite-1: wired Ethernet backhaul (status Good) - Satellite-2: wireless backhaul via Satellite-1 (status Good) - 2.4GHz: channel 6, 20/40MHz coexistence enabled, long preamble - IoT SSID enabled, 2.4GHz-only, WPA2-PSK PROBLEM Two Amcrest 2.4GHz-only WiFi cameras (802.11n, H.264, CBR 2048 Kbps main + 512 Kbps sub, about 2.5 Mbps each) cannot stream video on this system. Video breaks up continuously; my NVR (Frigate) logged over 14,000 stream-restart events for one camera in 24 hours. The same cameras, in the same mounting positions, in the same house, streamed flawlessly for years on my previous Orbi RBR50. While the cameras stream, the ENTIRE 2.4GHz band degrades for all clients. MEASUREMENTS (all reproducible) 1) Ping to camera, idle vs streaming (same camera, same position, minutes apart): - Streams stopped: 0% loss, 17 ms average - Streams running: 4-100% loss, average RTT 11,000-12,800 ms (yes, seconds) - Identical failure whether the camera associates to the router or a satellite, and on both the main SSID and the IoT SSID. 2) iperf3 upload from a healthy modern client (Intel AX211 WiFi 6E laptop, RSSI -34 dBm / 97% signal, TX link rate 344 Mbps) connected to the 2.4GHz-only IoT SSID, sending to a wired-LAN iperf3 server: - With the two cameras streaming (~5 Mbps total offered load): 7.05 Mbits/sec average, per-second intervals swinging 1-19 Mbps - With the camera streams stopped (only change): 56.3 Mbits/sec average, peaks of 102 Mbps Two legacy clients offering ~5 Mbps reduce the band's deliverable capacity by roughly 88%. This looks like legacy 1x1 802.11n clients being driven to minimum PHY rates with extreme retransmission (airtime exhaustion / rate adaptation problem). 3) Collateral impact: while the cameras stream, an unrelated light 2.4GHz client (thermostat) degrades to 361 ms average RTT with 3% loss. RULED OUT - Firmware: current (10.5.20.10). Note that the 10.5.20.3 release notes cite a 2.4GHz CCA threshold fix; the problem persists on the newer build. - Signal: camera RSSI is strong and the idle link is 17 ms / 0% loss. - Congestion: WiFi analyzer shows channel 6 occupied only by my own Orbi nodes; neighbor networks are -70 to -90 dBm. Channels 1/11 are quiet. - Camera settings: already CBR 2048 Kbps / 15 fps; problem persists. - SSID choice (main vs IoT), node reassociation, camera reboots: no change. QUESTION Has anyone else measured this? Is there a beta/engineering build that addresses 2.4GHz rate adaptation with legacy clients on the v1 770 series? I'm glad to run diagnostics or test a beta build. I have an open support case with the same data.Orbi 773 versus 773v2?
I bought an Orbi 773 at BestBuy today. To prep, I downloaded the user manual and also the firmware in case the unit I bought isn't up to date (although I assume it will auto-update on initial setup, I still like to have the firmware files local). Noticed there is different firmware versions for the 773 and 773v2. What is the difference between the v1 and v2 models and how do I tell which one I have? On the bottom of the 771 router the model states just RBE771 so I assume it's the original v1 and not the v2? Is this noted anywhere else? Should I care? ... are there important hardware/firmware performance and stability differences in the v2 and therefore I should return the v1 and purchase a v2 straight from Netgear's site? I tried searching on this topic but didn't find anything. Would really appreciate some guidance. Thanks in advance!Wifi Drops my printer within minutes
I have a new Orbi 770 mesh. 50 plus devices running on the network but my brother printer HL-L2370DW constantly drops offline. I have updated all firmware on printer and orbi devices. I have rebooted the Orbi mesh and printer several times. I set up a static IP of 192.168.1.2 for the printer, which shows up on Orbi for a few minutes but as soon as I boot up my printer I have only minutes of use, then it drops off line. I have attached screen shot of the issue. Please help.771 mesh router and satellite - no seamless transitions
I have the 77X mesh router and satellites, and whenever I move from upstairs (where the main router is) to ground floor (satellite location), my phone ‘s wifi disconnects and takes a long time to reconnect (I often just forget the network and reconnect with password, otherwise it takes more than 5 mins). I have the latest firmware and this issue has existed for a long time and was hoping that latest firmware would fix it permanently, but so far no luck. I never had this issue with an older wifi 5 mesh from Orbi, but this wifi 7 mesh has been consistently VERY unreliable.
