After multiple tests with Orbi support it turn out to be the IPv6.
My question is and what they couldn't tell me is why I needed to disable it to get my system to work correctly?

Only NG knows that. IPv6 seems to have been problematic on all Orbi systems for past several months. We've made NG aware of issues users have been seeing. All in NGs hands currently. Nothing else we can do accept for wait for NG to fix and resolve it all. If you do need IPv6, then you could use the ISP Gateway in router mode and configure the Orbi system for AP mode in meantime.
