Tried your suggestions and various other things for a couple of hours. Left for a couple of hours to run errands and on returning nothing was connected. Couldn’t even connect to the RBR. In some frustration, I factory reset everything and ran through the setup process from square one. Fortunately, that worked flawlessly and the network is now in good working order (with one satellite connected).
Thoughts on connecting the second satellite?
