I was using a Orbi RBR40, I set up my new RBE371 with two sats and set up was easy. I have Spectrum gig internet. I got a slight bump (300mps to 430mps) in download speed, upload is about 40 now as o...

Thanks for the response. Ethernet speed is terrible. May be caused by a switch I'm using, I'll upgrade that tomorrow and recheck.
MacBook is about 7 feet from the RBE371.
MBP is running 15.6.1
WiFi is a mixed 2.4 and 5mhz to allow for some devices that are not 5mhz.
WiFi is running at 300mbps, so it sounds like I can reasonably expect more speed over wifi.
Channels are currently set to auto, 2.4ghz is channel 4, 5ghz is channel 36.
speed test on the router using the orbital app is 1155Mbps download.
I can switch the channels but is there a way I can tell which channels have the least traffic?

What brand and model# switch do you have?
Ya 7 feet the MBP should see around that speed or maybe a bit more on 5Ghz. I use channel 40 here. WiFi will be always variable due to client side support and design, environment and conditions. Ethernet should be near 900mpbs on a 1Gb though thru the RBR. Test your MPB directy connected to the RBR with out a switch to compare.
Use a wifi analyzer to see what channels are most open or not used by your neighbors. Channels 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40, 44, and 48 on 5Ghz. I believe you may use higher channels on 5Ghz on the 370 series.
