RBE971 dropping A9000 connections

It's linking on 48 and 69, tx power is 23 and 12dBm respectively.
There are no RBS involved. I just have a small condo.
This is my only wifi7 adapter at the moment. It is 12 ft. directly across the room, clear line-of-site between the adapter and the RBR. I'm using the mainline kernel drivers included with Fedora. This behavior isn't specific to a kernel version, as I started having the problem under Fedora 44 and now have the A9000 conntected to a Fedora Rawhide (bleeding edge version) that behaves the same. The problem started under 7.1.something kernel and continues with 7.2.0-0.rc4 for F45. The Linux driver loads the mt7925u (u for usb) driver within the mt7

I haven't trashed my Win11 partitions yet, so I'll boot WinDoze and compare config output.
