Clients on Orbi Wi-Fi receive an IPv6 default gateway from an Orbi unit
I have a similar problem... My BGW320 is set to passthrough to my ORBI RBE770+2 satellites... Clients on Orbi Wi-Fi receive an IPv6 default gateway from an Orbi unit (fe80::ca10:2...

Thank you all for your replies.
I understand what you meant about the devices generating their own IPv6 addresses.
I just can't understand and fix the reason. While the Orbi is in AP mode, I can't use some features on some devices and as soon as I have it set to be in router mode, all flows nicely... to some extent...
Since the IPv6 doesn't add much to my day-to-day, I will leave it off on all the internet broadcasting devices.
What I am really trying to fix is to have the Orbi in AP mode to have the Firewalla controling the flows and help me with bufferbloat... and it seems I can't do it... even trying to use I is not helping me much. If only Netgear would include some sort of SQM in their software, it would be awesome...
Thanks again!

Something you might ask the Firewalla forums about as seems your trying to use that device to control various things on your network. They may know more.

Yes, I need to dig more into the Firewalla configurations, for sure.
When I use the BGW320 as the AP with passthrough to the Firewalla as the router, there are no connection issues. That's why I tend to think the Orbi in the AP mode is the culprit.
But then I am trying to use the wi-fi 7 from the Orbi plus the mesh range, since with only the BGW320 I get a lot of dead zones in the house.

While the link-local address is not the problem, the ULA DNS advertisement needs a bit more investigation.
Have you sorted out whether the issue is the connection to those problem devices, or whether it is name resolution?

I may be seeing this wrong; whenever I put the Orbi in AP mode, all the connected devices either get very slow or don't connect at all... the Netflix and Prime on 2 samsung smart tvs.
How does it perform in router mode?

I found out about the buffer bloat and the Firewalla
Have you measured the buffer bloat (both with and without the Firewalla)?
https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat is one of several free tests you can use.

And you disable ALL wifi radios on the BGW?
Size of home in sq feet?
Distances between the RBR and the RBS?
What channels are you using on the RBR when in AP mode?

Thanks for your comments.
And you disable ALL wifi radios on the BGW?
No, needed them to connect the wireless devices, just when testing without the Orbi.
With the Orbin connected, yes, all 3 wi-fi networks of the BGW are off.
Size of home in sq feet?
3600 sqf, 2 stories.
Distances between the RBR and the RBS?
one is about 40ft, with a few walls in between. Router is in the laundry area, inside a utility cabinet. The other satellite is on the 2nd story, almost above the router. about 20ft, give or take?
What channels are you using on the RBR when in AP mode?
- Channel, set to Auto
- Channel width: 20/40 MHz on 2.4, 80/160 on 5, 160/320 on 6
