Orbi 970 Horrible performance in AP Mode
Hello. I purchased the Orbi 970 Kit. I also have a asus router BT 98 Pro. The router of the orbi I configured to act in AP Mode. I have connected the lan 1 (not the 10 G of the orbit to the lan 3 of ...

So when configuring static IP addresses ON devices, the IP address gets set ON the device, ie. RBR. Also this IP address needs to reside out side of the host router default IP address pool range, not with in it. And do not set a IP address reservation for same IP address on the host router. Static IP addresses only are set ON the devcie and not the host router. This is normal and standard networking practice.
This was noted in the linked configuration article about AP mode.
Distances between RBR and RBS should be 30 feet starting, nothing less.
Make sure the RBRs WAN port is used to connect to the main host routers LAN port for AP mode.
Since the Orbi system is on the same subnet as the host router, you can connect some other devices to the main host router, this is acutally preferred for most of your devices. Then use the Orbi LAN ports as needed for maybe some additional remote connections in those areas. Should be noted that for any Ethernet connected RBS should you seek this connection, the RBS need to be ethernet connected behind the RBR, and not at the host router.

*The modem is Spectrum's Model EU2251. Photo is attached. In 2 months I will change for Venus Fiber 2Gb but for now this one.
*The Firmware in the Orbi 970 router RBE 971 is V9.13.1.2.
*I use a same way of static. In the ASUS Router I entered an ip 192.168.1.xxx associated with the macid of the Orbi 970 router RBE 971. But I have Static IP with same IP i have assigned always in the ASUS Router. Even if I didn't have Static IP Enabled in the Orbi Router, the ASUS router asks and does, but I have the same in both places. Even each Satellite I have the same way assigned one specific IP from my ASUS Router
*Home is 9800 Sqft around, but I have centered the section I want with the Orbi Kit and is ok, yes I have around 20-30 FT around Satellites.
*The routers are connected as my above described diagram. Just LAnbetween the routers not wireless.

Orbi Router (AP Mode)
The Satellites are Wireless the 3, just one Satellite I'm using one of its ports LAN Output wires to a TV. But all satellites are Wireless connected to the their Orbi router. That is why I ask if having one output LAN in one satellite and having in the router Orbi all ports LAN occupied for devices can make a mess in future. Now runs fine but I don't know if this is the proper configuration.
The question is that having all ports connected to other devices (wired) in the Orbi Router in AP mode should not affect correct in performance or lags. I ask because I know that Orbi in router is a beauty but in AP mode I want to check if my configuration can have lags or problems in the future. Really is not a problem now, is just a question to think my future configurations or move the devices from the LAN Ports of the Orbi Router and send to ASUS Router to remove stress to the Orbi Router, thing i don't think is the question but I ask just in case.
