RBE970 satellite does not bridge traffic between its own 5 GHz and 6 GHz clients (V12.1.11.15)
System: RBE971 router + 3x RBE970 satellites, all on firmware V12.1.11.15 (no newer firmware offered). Main SSID on 5 GHz + 6 GHz, WPA2-PSK + WPA3-Personal mixed mode, 5 GHz channel 40. IoT SSID is s...

The power cycle did not work ... but donawalt you are still a genius. I ended up doing a full factory reset of the 970, deleting it from the mesh, adding it back in and now the 5 ghz and 6 ghz devices all talk to each like normal devices!!
Thank you so much!

Honestly their software is a bit flakey... rebooting did not work at all. It was this thread where people mentioned that theirs did work so I could not believe I uniquely had a failed 970 that somehow uniquely couldn't do something that should be in software.
The factory reset just got it back to some standard initial state the netgear folks have at least tested from.
The other thing that definitely needs some refinement is getting 6 ghz backchannels to connect properly on reboots (this is another place where removing the satellite and then reconnecting is more stable than having it try and find the router in the current state).
Will mark as resolved!

Ya, wondering, my 870 series was factory reset prior to set up, however that was over a week ago. Not sure if something didn't change or the RBS just needs a reset again. Would indicate that if it was working after the initial factory reset then and testing later one, fails, something in FW could be degrading.
If you can, keep checking your RBS and if you see this again, let us know. Hoping it won't reappear. I'll try a factory reset on my RBS and test again.
I've not seen any backhaul or 6Ghz issues there. I had been testing this in depth and only issues seen were with one particular Intel wifi adapter while connected at the RBS. Wireless backhaul is stable for the most part. I do wish NG would let users change the front haul 6Ghz channel on BE systems.

I wish they'd give a lot more visibility and control. I don't think Netgear support is set up yet for people sending in thoroughly researched problems in some cases using Claude, etc. I sent them thorough logs showing the errors, and they steered me to reset the router.
