VPN configuration

Another change is to set the "verbosity" to 5. This will generate debugging information in the OpenVPN log file.

i.e. change "verb 0" to "verb 5"

Yea, I have made the changes from tap to tun.. have tried from pc and from phone neither one can connect.. not really sure what is going on with it.  

I agree.  The default for Windows has been tap since the beginning.  Smartphone (both Apple and Android) do not support tap and the configuration files produced for smartphones specify tun.

(internet search for "tap vs. tun" will explain the difference)

The change is simple.  In the ovpn configuration file, change "tap" to "tun" and change "12974" to "12973"

FWIW, I recently set it up on my 873.

The phone worked with no problems, but I needed to switch the PC configuration to use tun (instead of the pc default tap).  After that it connected ok.

Has anyone successfully set up OpenVPN on this router? I’ve tried different configs, but no luck getting a stable connection. Would really appreciate tips if someone’s cracked it.
