WAND Disconnects (Hunter Irrigation)
I've had a Hunter WAND WiFi module in my X2 controller (irrigation system) since 2024 and it seems that after the latest RBE972S (Orbi 970/Orbi 971) firmware updates to Version 12.1.10.12, the WAND W...

After wasting my life on these types of problems, it turns out that the disconnect issue is a legacy hardware issue. I was having the same disconnect issues with my Generac generator except this problem would not even let me reconnect the WiFi module to my network - even after working for 2 years. Between me and a knowledgeable support person, it turns out that the WiFi module only connects if constrained to a 2.4 GHz specifically named SSID. For the Orbi 970/971 mesh network equipment, an easy way to accomplish this was to instantiate an IoT network which allows specifying 2.4 GHz only with its own SSID. So far everything is once again working. I also went ahead and put some of semi-IoT equipment, e.g., refrigerator, on the now new IoT network. With a new understanding of what an IoT network is all about, it makes a lot of sense. I don't want to impact my watching of Dr. Phil everyday (lol). When I go back and look at the first thread response, sure enough the alternate network (guest, IoT, etc.) was suggested.

Glad you got it all working. What the IoT network is there for.
