Where is Wi-fi 6 and 7 on the 970?

So it's been 24 hours since I installed the Orbi 970 system. I have a couple of Wi-Fi 6 and one Wi-Fi 7 devices. When I go into the Orbi web page and look at connected devices, those devices show connected at 5GHz not 6 or 7 GHz when the devices are right next to the router. Now the odd thing is when I run speed test on these devices, I am seeing throughput of 1.3GB on these devices which is my max internet speed through my internet provider. Is this just a software issue with the Orbi app and website? Why would n't these devices show up as connected at 6GHz or 7GHz?

  • I just figured out the issue. Turning off wi-fi private IP, limit IP tracking, and iCloud on the iPhone 15 fixed the issue. it is now showing connected at 6GHz. As far as the other wi-fi 7 device the OnePlus Open, I turned off randomized MAC address. That device now displays connected at 5GHz+6GHz. Hopefully this will help someone else with this issue.

Is Wifi 7 actually working at the moment? From my understanding there is no such thing as a 7Ghz signal but rather an aggregated  5Ghz + 6Ghz connection, so it certainly sounds like it is working?

I assumed Wifi 7 was primarily for MLO / backhaul

        Correct.

Also one can enable 240Mhz channel with for BH as well. Though system may only use 160Mhz depending on signal quality between RBR and RBS and building materials in between. WiFi 7 is a mode, not a frequency: https://www.wiisfi.com/
