AX12 RAX120 Not Working with DLNK Unmanaged Switch DGS-1024A

Hardware Version: RAX120

Firmware Version: V1.2.1.22

Operation Mode: Router

Router not working when Dlink DGS-1024A switch is connected to one of the LAN ports. LAP Port seems to be flashing white to indicate connectivity, however after a few minutes, WIFI stops conneting and keeps requesting password.

When the correct password is entered it does not recognise it and keeps prompting to enter correct password.

Sometimes WIFI Connects after a while but reports that there is no internet connection.

After rebooting the router, the same problem repeats until the cable connecting to the DLINK switch is disconnected from the router.

The switch is plug and play, there is no configuration required and works with a different router so the problem is with RAX120.

Given AX Routers are expensive and top of the range for home use, its surprising to find that simple things like these dont work out of the box.

Would apprecaite any guidance to resolve the problem.

Thanks.

  • I found a great solution to all problems Netgear offers. Change brands. Sorry, but honestly. I spend much more time on the network than trying to fix my Netgear routers since I moved out of Netgear.

Unfortunately I have considerable sum on netgear AX router, so ditching for now would not be best.

      Thanks.

Blame assignment is Job One.  Does connecting some port on the Dlink
DGS-1024A to a LAN port on the RAX120 cause the problem, or does the
junk which is connected to the Dlink DGS-1024A cause the problem?

What's a "LAP Port"?  "seems"?  Is there some doubt?
