AX5400 replacing R6400v2
I'm replacing my R6400v2 [2.4G@400Mbps/5G@1350Mbps] with an AX5400 [2.4G@600/5G@4800Mbps]. I have been managing my R6400v2 with the Nighthawk app on my iPad Pro.
I'm assuming the steps I'll have to take are as follows:
1 - power down R6400v2, and switch off. Disconnect from internet.
2 - delete Nighthawk app from iPad Pro.
3 - connect AX5400 to internet, and power on.
4 - install Nighthawk on my iPad pro
5 - use Nighthawk app to detect new AX5400, and configure as per instructions.
OR
do I leave app as is on my iPad Pro, and work within that app to deinstall the R6400v2, then install the AX5400?
You shouldn't need to uninstall the app.
When the app doesn't detect your router, it should offer to remote connect or "new system setup".
You should be able to follow th new system setup option.
Also, what modem/gateway are you connecting it to? Some you have to power the modem/gateway down for a bit without a router connected and then power it back on. Then connect the router.
