AX8 (RAX80) Region Change Assistance

Hello all. Please Help!

I currently live in Japan and purchased an AX8 (RAX80) Router and Extender EAX80.

I will be moving to the United States and need to change the region for the router.

Currently, it is in Japan and greyed out so I cannot change it to US North America.
Please advise on any method to change the region/firmware to US North American.

    To change the region on an Orbi AX8 (RAX80) router, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open a web browser and enter "http://orbilogin.com" in the address bar to access the router's web interface.

    2. Enter your admin username and password to log in. If you haven't changed the default login credentials, the username is "admin" and the password is "password".

    3. In the router's web interface, navigate to the "Advanced" tab and select "Administration" from the left-hand menu.

    4. Select "Regional" in the sub-menu.

    5. Select the Region you want to choose from the drop-down menu.

    6. Save the changes and restart the router for the changes to take effect.

      Thank you for the reply.

      However, this does not work. 

      The region is greyed out, I cannot change the option.

      BTW this is a Netgear Nighthawk AX8 (RAX80) router not the Orbi.

    I thought that it was only in the US that Netgear locked regions. (It is probably down to a legal thing.)

     

    The advice from SD213 works in some regions and on some devices.

     

    There used to be away to reset regions, but newer devices seem to have closed off that option.

    You may be able to find something out there in hacker land, but I haven't seen any way of doing this on new stuff.
