  • some more details help.

    1. what router do you have?

    2. what firmware is on it?

    3. what modem/gateway is it connected to

    4. when setting up the smart devices, is your device you're using for setup on the 2.4gh? For a properly coded IoT device, it shouldn't matter but poorly coded ones, it does.

the trick is getting your phone on the 2.4ghz.

        the orbi's can't be seperated.

        options?

        1. try turning down the 5ghz ssid signal and shut off the satellites. then move away from the router and disconnect, reconnect to it. Sometimes that'll get you connected to the 2.4ghz.

        2. use a phone hotspot. Shut off the router/satellites and use a 2nd phone to turn on the phones hotspot with the same ssid/password as the router. go through setup. Then once its setup, shut off the hotspot and turn the router back on.
