Cannot get WiFi to show up!

Hello!

Hope you are all well and safe. So, I have a AC2300 Nighthawk Router and I am having trouble activating the WiFi. Everything is connected and it says that Internet is connected as well, but for some reason the WiFi is not able to be activated. I have Xfinity, I do not have bridge mode enabled because when I did, the internet light would shine orange (do not know what that entails). Also, I made sure that the WiFi light was on (second to last) did every sort of hard reset, power cycle, power cycled when I had bridge mode activated (both modem and router), but still have no idea what to do. Can't tell if its a hardward issue or something simple that's flying over my head. Thanks for the help in advance.

  • Quick Update: I am in the Router through Ethernet and it is working flawlessly! Still says Wireless is out and I cannot figure out why :(

AC2300  is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds. I assume that we are talking about the R7000P in your footer.

So how do you connect to Xfinity?

It might help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Apologies for the questions. But you can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:

Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)

They are there for a good reason.
