Instructions for setting up nighthawk RAX41 to use with my ISP router in bridge or modem mode.
Just as the title states, I’m looking for advice on how I need to set this router up when I return it back to router mode that will be connected via ethernet cable to one of the outputs of my ISP pro...

I’ve already spoke with my ISP about this several times and they have no problem with me using my router completely by itself or even setting their router into bridge mode and even offered to do it for me so that all I have to do is basically reconfigure my router back into normal router mode.
Actually, they insisted that they do this, setting my ISP router into bridge mode so that they can make sure it’s done properly and that if anything happens, they won’t be able to blame me for it because they did it themselves but again, they have no problem with me doing this and even told me this might make things work a lot better, even better than just using my router to completely replace their router.
But you’re saying they should know what specific changes, if there are any, that I have to do to my Netgear router?

With there equipment. If they can bridge there equipement, then use the NG router in router mode. Thats all.

So then you’re saying basically the Netgear tech-support person I talked to over the phone lied to me when they said there would have to be specific settings set in order to run my NG router behind my ISP router when it’s in Bridge mode…. In other words to hopefully reduce confusion, they said I wouldn’t be able to just return my Netgear router back into normal router mode, connected via ethernet to my bridge ISP router and expect it to work…… you’re saying that’s not true? BTW thanks a bunch for your help. It’s greatly appreciated.

Something ISP may have specific configurations, like PPPoE or VLAN settings. Most others don't and is mostly automatic, DHCP. IF the ISP is DHCP, then should be as simple as connecting the NG router and setting it up and the router will detect the connection. Again, something to ask the ISP if DHCP will work or if something else is needed on the NG router, the ISP will know.
