Problem with Amazon/reddit, is that you'll always find complaints for every single device. but you have to judge the complaints versus the positives. there's always going to be people with issues either because they don't know what they're doing (installing, firmware, setting up, etc) or they actually did get a bad device. It does happen as manufacturing has a certain percentage of defects for every device maker.
So compare what the +/- reviews are to what you paid and give it a shot. If you bought it local and you have issues, you should be able to return it if it doesn't work that great for you.
