Losing DNS on ethernet

Keeps losing DNS with latest firmware, rolling back to RAX200-V1.0.5.132_1.0.69. Have done a factory reset and still had the issues. Please fix the firmware, for I do like my nighthawk.

  • What do you mean by losing DNS?

    What's happening exactly?

    What devices are connected?

    Happens on all devices?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

2 computer that are connected via ethernet wont find the internet, they connect to the router but no dns. Router sees them connected. Meanwhile phones seen  on wifi can access web.

A full reset gets the ports working but then becomes intermittent on the ethernet. In the past been fine.

  • Might be something on the ISP side as the defaults  are the ISP's servers.

Try a different DNS Server. Here's a few. Also remember to change the ipv6 dns server if ipv6 is enabled.
    CloudFlare
    IPv4: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
    IPv6: 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1111 and 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1001
    GoogleDNS
