Mesh WiFi 6 System
My home and office are separated by 15 ft and my office is where the Business Internet provider installed the modem for internet service. From the modem, I connected a Netgear Nighthawk Tri Wi-Fi router and connected a cat 5e cable to back of the router that runs 65 ft to a Netgear Switch in the home. I purchased a Netgear Mesh Wifi 6 System (AX1800) for the home and connected it to the switch. I'm able to find the new network with a strong signal, but not able to connect.
Other connected devices to the switch work great. I used the Nighthawk app to install and all was good except it could not find the router.
I would greatly appreciate any recommendation or suggestions.

you've probably got the new mesh system setup in router mode if you did it in the app. this would cause a double nat

try disconnecting the mesh system from the switch, hardwire a pc/laptop into it (or wireless) and switch it to access point mode. then reconnect it to the network.
this would leave your tri-band running router function and the mesh actingg as an access point.

Have you try static ip addressing instead of DHCP? If your first router is 192.168.0.1, then on your mesh router you can set the internet side of your mesh router as 192.168.0.2. Make sure to reserve the 192.168.0.2 address on the first router to prevent it from being used by any other devices.
