NetGear Nighthawk RAX50 - slow wifi speed , and limited speed on PC

Hi

I have a NetGear Nighthawk RAX50 ( brand new AX ruter)

my network is a 500/500mbps.

The wifi speed is low all over my house

Cables from home central to ruter = cat6

1. If i use ethernet i get my wantet speed ---> 500/500 mbps

2. If i use 5GHz band,  I am limited to 175mbps, anywhere in my house

If i reset wifi adapter and connect again, still 175mbps

also tried anoher PC, same issue here.

If seems that the router has limited my speed , but i cannot se any options to change this matter

I recon the speed schould be like = 7-800 mbps on my laptop IF I'am near my ruter, but it is stuck @175 mbps.

Is there anyone who has a clue regarding this matter?

Best Regards

Corna

  • Sollution that worked:

    1. reset the Nighthawk RAX50 router with a needle ( pin ) on back where the LAN ports are

    2. cut the power on the ISP modem/ruter

    3. turn on the  ISP modem/ruter again

    4. turn on Nighthawk RAX50 again

    5. run a full setup wizard again on Nighthawk RAX50

    Then the speed got right,

testet on laptop and phone all over house

    Wifi speed is now correct

    Kind Regards

  • What modem/gateway is it connected to?

What device are you testing with and what app are you using to test with?

You put you get full speed hardwired?

Did you ever try a factory reset and reinstall? Leave it default (other than ssid) during the install process and speedtest it once you get the basics setup.

    same issue here!

was looking to replace my google wifi with RAX50. but got 1/3 of the down speed compared to google wifi and no obstructions. seems there is a preset bottleneck?

Understand WIFI6 automatically splits resources to connected devices. can it be that it give max 200mb per unit?

sounds strange but have to ask :)
