Netgear Nighthawk RAX70 has slow internet speed well below the maximum
I've been using this for a while with a 300MBs Spectrum connection. I just increased Spectrum to 500MBs and testing directly from modem to my PC gets me 600MB. I also have a gigabit router in which it also runs at 600MB down and 25MB up when connected to my PC.. When I connect the Spectrum modem to the Netgear AX6600 RAX70, I only get around 300MB down and 10MB upload. This happens on the ethernet ports and wifi 6. It also happens whether the modem is directly into the Netgear or run through the other router. (The ultimate goal is to have my TP Link router perform load sharing and redundancy between Spectrum and Verizon networks but first I need to get Spectrum to work at the 500MB.)
I have the latest firmware and have reset the modem, the PC, and the router numerous times. Any suggestions would be much appreciated..

I found the problem and wanted to note this in case others see the same issue. It was in the QOS setting.
When I initially installed this on the Spectrum 300MB line, I ran the speedtest in the router and it used those numbers as the maximum, speed. it was set at 322MB. I had the router re-run this and we are now at 550MB down and 25MB up. Now the speedtest from my PC gives me the speeds I need.

The general advice on QoS is that anyone with an Internet connection above 300 Mbps, some say 200 Mbps, should forget about QoS.
It was designed when people had slow Internet connections and wanted to slow down stuff so that they could game their lives away. These days speeds are so high that QoS is more a hindrance than a help. It just gets in the way of traffic, slowing things down.

Thanks for the information. I'm an old time infrastructure guy and we had to use it when we had T1 lines and then with the 10MB internet came along. Guess I need to change with the times. I will remove QOS as I agree that should not be needed with my current speeds.
Glad you found the issue.
Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
