Netgear52

I currently have two Netgear routers. One we are using at the house the second one we just purchased to use in the barn. I have run a ethernet cable to the barn and attached it to the existing router. How do I get the two routers to work together?

    Go to the DOWNLOADS section at the top of this page, feed in the model number of your router and download the user's manual.  In the manual look up the section for how to configure the router as an access point.  Configure the barn router as an access point.  When done, pull the power cord on the access point device, connect the Ethernet cable back to the router in the house, and then power up the barn router and let it boot.

      1. Great job running the ethernet cable. we recommend it so often but it rarely happens. 

      2. what actual routers do you have? 

      3. both Kitsap and michaelkenward have steered you correctly in AP mode for the one in the barn (or whichever is the secondary device)

      4. how far is this "barn" from the home? with they way you've described it, I'm doubtful you're using a mesh system but if the devices are far enough away from each other, you can probably use the same ssid/password for both and still have decent roaming.
