Nighthawk Android app cannot connect to RAX45 configured as AP
The Nighthawk Android app fails to connect to my AX6 RAX45 Nighthawk router. I have it set as an access point for wifi. My cable modem is doing the routing and assigns a specific IP address to the RAX45.
At one point, all was working, but I _think_ when I change the RAX45 to use Smart Connect (same SSID and password for 2.4 and 5GHz with autoswitching) the Nighthawk app gets to screen where it says Detecting Product, then gets to Issues connecting with "network name". Netgear tech support had me uninstall and reinstall the app, but then it tried to get me to start over from scratch, asking for the original router's SSID network. Not sure how, but now it is back to asking to connect with my (working) wifi network's SSID.
It seems to be failing to detect the router on the wifi network. Anyone have any clues?

Have you tried just connecting via the browser using the IP address your router is assigning to the RAX?
Yes, it works fine from the browser login to the router home page. But I would like the convenience of using the Android app.
On my 3rd contact with support, I was told that the Nighthawk app does not work with the router in access point mode. Disappointing.
