Nighthawk RAX 80 Not Connecting to the Internet
I just purchased the Nighthawk RAX 80 and went through the set up process, but my router is not connecting to the internet. I checked to see if there is any issue with internet because of my modem (Arris TM 822), but there is no issue when I connect the modem directly to my laptop, for I have internet connection. I am able to connect to the router on my computer and phone, but in both cases there is no internet connection. I spent time with technical support to troubleshoot my internet problem. We reset the router, checked the ethernet cord, checked the power source by switching to another plug, and unplugged the modem and router. We even checked to see if there was any light on any of the LAN ports on the router, and there was none. The technical support concluded that Internet and LAN ports were defective and therefore I should return the brand new router for a refund or another RAX 80 router. While I understand that products may be defective, I am not sure if there may be some other reason why I am unable to connect to the internet via my router, given that others seemed to have some similar problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did your troubleshooting include the essential boot order?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
Get that wrong and your router may not connect to the Internet.

Thanks for the help, but I followed your instructions and still it do not work. I was able to confirm today at work on a different network that the Internet port on the router is working. When I arrived home, however, to connect to the internet, the same problem occurred. I am not sure what is creating the problem at home. I again connected the ethernet cord into my computer and I have internet access.
There really isn't much to go on here, so you will need as real expert to chime in.
I can only think that the modem needs some sort of configuration to allow you to plug it into a router. But if you have simply replaced one router with another it is hard to see what you can change. And the only manual I can find for this modem is from 2011. So might not be the right one. It doesn't even go into connecting a router.
Can you actually get into the router browser graphical user interface (GUI) without an Internet connection?
You should be able to do this without any connection between modem and router.
Just plug your PC into an Ethernet (not Internet) port on the router and aim the browser at it. As in the Connect to the Network bit in the manual.
>>> RAX80 | Product | Support | NETGEAR<<<
You can then check the firmware and even update it manually.
Life should not be this difficult. Sadly, the RAX range seems to be "work in progress".

You are actually in the wrong forum here. This one is specific to Netgear Nighthawk Routers. Not those with WiFi 6. Try posting in https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Routers-with-WiFi-6-AX/bd-p/en-home-routers-nighthawk-wifi-ax6 as that is where this post should be. People familiar with the router might know what is going on with your situation.
