Nighthawk RAX70 and Printer
Recently installed new Nighthawk Router. After successfully installing all wifi devices are working. The printer is able to detect and connect to this router and all other wifi devices are able to send print jobs to the printer, which are successfully executed. However, when sending a print job from the pc, the printer will not execute them. The wiring is as follows:
The router is connected via Ethernet cable to a optus modem, which is then connected via Ethernet cable to the pc. The printer wireless connects to the router, which the printer says is successful.
I have already tried restarting all components, checking firewalls, and updating drivers.
Any help solving this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Guys, thanks for all the help.
Ended up working what the problem was. It turns out I had a double NAT going on. Both the modem and router had created their own networks, network 1 and network 2. My computer, which was connected to the modem was on network 1, while the printer which was connected to the router via wifi was on network 2. As such, the printer was outside of the computers ip-range, and it was not able to respond to print requests.
To fix this, I simply plugged the computer internet port into one of the routers ports, which meant both devices were on the same network, and thus could communicate. Another way to fix this would be to put the router in access point(AP) mode mode, and then connect the printer directly to the modem. This way the router does not create its own network, but instead just acts as an access point to the modems network.Once again, thanks for all your help, and I hope this helps someone else out their struggling with the same issue.

To me this suggests that the problem could be with the PC.
What is this printer?
How is it connected to the network?
I don't follow this bit.

What is the order?
modem > router > PC
What is this modem?
The usual way to fix wifi printers is to find the printer maker's utility, the software that runs on your operating system. Then use that to connect the printer to the wifi.
The router just broadcasts wifi. It is then down to the printer to play ball. There isn't much that you can do on a router, beyond fixing it to a particular IP address, that affects what the printer gets up to.
Where possible, using the WPS feature can simplify things.
the other thing to chck is in windows the "public" versus "private" setting.

Excellent point. (Good link, despite the ads, that confirms what I have been saying for years.)
This is especially important in newer versions of Windows.
