Notebook doesn't see my network on an RAX20

I have a notebook with Windows 10. I have had to reset the notebook due to a bit locker issue but after the reset, this notebook now does not see the home network... at all. I have tried entering it manually to no avail.

It has been suggested to toggle the network channels on the router in case the notebook doesn't recognize the current channel but cannot find out how to do this on this router if there is an option.

Suggestions?

  • Addendum; The notebook sees all the neighborhood networks. The notebook has connected successfully to the home network for the past couple of years with no issues prior to the Bit Locker issue.

I'm a bit lost. (Easily done.) Do you still have the issue described in your first message?

How do you connect the laptop? Wired or wifi?

What do you see in the way of messages when you try to get on to the network?

Have tried throwing the Windows Network Troubleshooter at it?

Windows likes to protect us from new networks that might be evil. In reality, it sometimes blocks safe networks.

One thought is that you could tell Windows that you are on a "private network".

      • Network and Internet settings
      • Network Status
      • Change Connection Properties
      • Network Profile
      • Private

I'm told that this is rubbish advice. But it has worked for me and others in the same boat.
