RAX 45 - Internet LED is solid Orange

The internet LED on my router is suddenly Solid Amber and the router is not detectable. However when i connect my lan cable to the cable modem directly , i can connect to the internet on a wired connection.

Any solution to the problem

  • Do a factory reset. Press the Reste button at back for ~10 seconds and release

And turn off automatic firmware updates. It can silently brick your router

A reset is certainly a possibility but it is the nuclear option. You have to set up the network all over again.

There is a simpler and less dramatic one to try first.

It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

    • Turn off and unplug modem.
    • Turn off router and computers.
    • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on computers and rest of network.

If that does not work, then move on to the reset.

Before you do that you could save a backup of your current configuration and restore it when you are back on line.

If restoring it kills the connection, just reset again and set up the device from scratch.
