RAX 50 solid orange power light
When the RAX50 powers on the light under the power symbol stays solid orange, with the occasional flash to white every few minutes but then right back to solid orange. What does this mean exactly? I read somewhere that it indicates booting up, but it's been like that for over an hour now. Additionally, I tried pinging 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 when only my PC is connected to the router and I'm just getting "PING: transmit failed. General failure." Lastly, I tried pushing a firmware update to it using tftp and I'm just getting "Connect request failed." Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Might try a 30-30-30 reset, if this fails, then the router maybe a bust and needs replacing.

If you look at the manual, you can see what Netgear says:
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual Troubleshoot With the LEDs.
The bad news is that it may have corrupt firmware. If so, start simple and see if a reset will fix the thing.

Opinions vary on more severe resets, with some saying that the 30:30:30 thing is pointless. (In older routers it put them into "Recovery mode".) But if your router us bust, then you can't do any more damage to it.
Lastly, I tried pushing a firmware update to it using tftp and I'm just getting "Connect request failed."TFTP is not the easiest operation to carry out. It takes careful timing. So you may have to keep trying until you work, or give up with exhaustion.
Can you think of anything that might have throw the router into a tizzy?
