I keep having drop outs on my internet connection daily. My ISP says all is good on their end. Using Citrix and it disconnects several times a day. Is it the modem?

Not much to go on there.

What drops out? Internet? Wifi? Wired Ethernet? (Look at the LEDs on the router.)

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". There may be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that sits between this router and the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

  • both wifi and wired internet drop out. My ISP connection is basically an ethernet adaptor as there is a dish on my roof aimed at a signal on a light pole across the street. I run 2 Avaya VPN phones through the house wiring, a CAT6 cable to the basement to one office and a CAT6 cable to the upstairs office. I run a work laptop on wifi and the citrix connection will drop probably once an hour, sometimes kicking me out of citrix. The downstairs office has the same setup, but it is wired to a Lenovo dock.
