RAX120 Slow Internet Speed
I recently purchased RAX120v2 to replace my old fritzbox 7560. After installing and setting up the RAX120v2 my internet speed was limited to around 80-90mbps both on wire and wifi on speedtest.net. With fritzbox I was getting 600-800 mpbs which is a massive difference !
I tried firmware 1.2.8.40 and beta firmware 1.2.8.43 and both have the same results. I tried to enable QoS but that just made things worse limiting my speed to 40mbps. The CPU seems to be at around 11 % when running speed test.I s there something I am potentially missing here ?
Try speed testing with Ooklas installable speed test app on the PC.
What does the onboard speed test app show on the RAX router?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I completely forgot about the ONT. I checked the network statistics and it was detecting only 100mbps on WAN. I restarted the ONT and it was still at 100mbps but I decided to try it on LAN 3 port which detect 1000mbps after which I switched to WAN again and stayed with 1000mbps this time.
Thanks for your help.
