RAX120V2 firmware 1.2.9.52 wifi dropping

Hi,

The RAX120V2 has started dropping wifi connections. Shows that no wifi and when i click on the wifi name, its says cant connect but LAN connected devices continue working and then the wifi comes back in a little bit by itself. It keeps happening few times a day. Is there anything to do or check?

Hardware VersionRAX120v2
Firmware VersionV1.2.9.52

Thank you!

  • What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?

What all do you have connected to the router for wireless devices?

    How many?

    Where is the router placed?

    Have good cooling and ventilation?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. https://kb.netgear.com/22697/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-router-web-interface
Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Does this happen with Smart Connect enabled?

Does this happen with say half less of devices connected to see if this continues?

Might try the router out side of the media closet.

Do you have Armor enabled by chance?

Might try a Factory reset and setup from scratch as well if this continues.
