RAX120v2 randomly reboots/drops connection

recently purchased a NightHawk RAX120v2 as a replacement to my older nighthawk model. This model is up to date on firmware and is still dropping internet connection and rebooting itself atleast once or twice a day. Any fix for this?? All connections and software/firmware up to date and modem is fine as well.

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Using the Internet Port or Multi gig port for the connection to the modem?

      Firmware 1.2.8.40

      Cat 6 cables

Fiber modem provided by isp. Not sure exact details atm, spectrum says this router is compatible with their modems.

      Using internet port.

        What is that modem?

Spectrum has supplied many different modems over the years. Some of them are modem/routers which complicates things.

There should be a label on yours to tell you what you have.

What does "Using internet port" mean?

You plugged the modem into the WAN port on your RAX120v2?
