RAX20 firmware update take forever

My new RAX20 router cannon connect and setting up by APP. The error is :ERR EMPTY RESPONSE.
I Tried wired to.setup. it is taking forever to download the firmware.
Questions:
Why I can't connect to new router
How long will be the firmware update

    I don't understand what you are trying to do.

     

    If you are trying to update the firmware on a router, get the manual and read the bit about how to update the firmware:

     

    If you visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

    you can feed in your model number and find the documentation for your hardware.

    It will also have any firmware for your device.

      I bought this new router and tried to set it up by using the quick start manual.

      I installed the Nighthawk APP and started to setup my new router.

      After following the guilds from the APP.  I could not set it up.

      Then I manually link to the new router and the error message showed:

      "err empty response"

       

      Since the method in the quick start manual does not work, I tried to use the traditional way: Using wired Ethernet cable.

      After I connected to the router, the main page asked me if I want to update the firmware, and I chose "Yes"

      It took me forever to wait for downing and installing and it never succeeded.

       

      So, my previous message just want to quickly know if I got a bad router.

       

      Eventually, I manually downloaded the firmware file, updated it and set up the wifi.

      All of the manual are useless.

      Now, I know why there are so many one-star reviews. It is because customers could not set it up by following the quick start manual.
