RAX200 as second router

my configuration is as follows:

MODEM <-- WIRED ROUTER <-- RAX200

WIRED ROUTER:
192.168.0.1
Tried with/out reserved 192.168.0.2

RAX200 - connected to wired router via WAN port (also tried a regular LAN port as well as the 2nd WAN port)

192.168.1.1

Manual setup
Internet IP set to 192.168.0.2
Gateway 192.168.0.1

The internet icon on RAX200 turns white, but the app at 192.168.1.1 shows no internet, there is also no internet on either wired or wireless devices.

RAX200 doesn't work at all in AP mode, it doesn't let any devices to connect even through I see the networks on the scans - it requires a reset to recover. Same with disabling DHCP on the RAX200, although I don't want it disabled, I just want it to act like a router for all the devices connected to it.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Do I have a bad device on my hands? Is this a firmware bug?

Thanks for the reply - yes, a bit of trouble but not too much.

If I set the RAX200 in AP mode, I can't connect anything to it, even though I see the wireless network.

The main reason I want the RAX as a 2nd router, is to connect things on the guest network and don't allow them to see the rest of the network. I was trying a big brain config like that.

Then there is something wrong with the setup.

What do you mean by "can't connect anything to it"? What are you trying to connect and how?

You will not be able to get at the browser graphical user interface (GUI) on the RAX200 with the usual address. You have to track down the IP address that the router has allocated to it and throw a browser at that. (Hint, you can fix the IP address on the RAX200 either on the RAX200 itself or by reserving it on the main router.)

As you have discovered, your plan to use the RAX200 connected to the anonymous router won't work. Not a bad device or a firmware bug. Just a wonky configuration.

That's what AP mode is designed for. I'd fix that rather than trying to rewrite the rules of networking.

        Then there is this:

The main reason I want the RAX as a 2nd router, is to connect things on the guest network and don't allow them to see the rest of the network.

I'd investigate how to achieve that before experimenting with a network setup. First is it even possible? Second are there other ways to achieve it?
