Rax30 amber light or no light on internet led
I’m not extremely computer savvy so I need help.
My rax30 keeps intermittently showing the internet led light as amber or off. Everything is connected and seems ok for a while then I lose internet and go see that the light is amber.
Could it just be that i need a new Ethernet cable?

Your connection starts there.
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The make and model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
Could it just be that i need a new Ethernet cable? No harm in trying, especially if you have a spare lying around. Some people get fixated on cables, but it isn't likely to be the cause.
- DarkricraAspirantThe modem I have is an Arris surfboard sb6141. It’s just a modem, not a router.
Router firmware version v1.0.10.94_3
I just found out my internet provider is working on a “node” in the area. I’ve been having issues off and on for a while though, so not sure that will be the fix i need.

Does the modem have LEDs that tell you anything useful? If that isn't connected. then your router can't either.
Do the router's logs have any useful clues?
Router firmware version v1.0.10.94_3There has been a "Hotfix" since then.

No harm in trying, but I wouldn't expect that to fix this sort of problem.
