RAX43 setup help required

A few months ago, I purchased a Nighthawk router. I set it up, and changed the name. The other day I inadvertently deleted the app from my phone, and the router reverted to its original name. I reloaded the app in an effort to change the name back, but since I no longer have the little sticker with the QR code, I was unable to start the router. Now even the Netgear network has disappeared and I am left without Internet.

Any suggestions?

  • You can log in through the browser.

Try going to routerlogin . com   on your browser and log in that way

  • You don't need an app to set up a router.

Go to http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 with a browser, login and configure whatever you want.

Do note that a few days ago there was a new firmware version update. If your router was set to auto-update its firmware, many people reported that after the update, the router reverts to factory default and you'll have to set up everything from scratch.

Advice? Turn off auto-update. It can even brick your router, not just reset it, which is even worse.

Thanks. This would be great advice if my router had any Internet connection.

You don't need an internet connection to reach http://192.168.1.1 - that's a private, local IP of the router. Connect a wired PC to the router, let it get an IP from the router, then go to that address
