RAX45-100NAS How to setup Static IP?
I had a netgear 6900P . It was set on a 192.168.1.1 static ip. All my wifi cameras, wi fi printers, and Tivo were on the 192.168. ip range.
I bought a new netgear from COstco:
https://www.costco.com/netgear-nighthawk-6-stream-ax4300-wifi-6-router.product.100523245.html
The problem is when I try and setup a static IP to 192.168.xxx the internet immediately cuts out.
SO I unplugged the router and logged back in to routerlogin.net and set wireless setting back to "choose IP address automatically" (172.xxx.xxxx)
then the internet began to work again.
THe problem is my wirelessess cameras, printers, and tivo don't.
I also noticed in the advanced menu......LAN settings........the ip is 10.0.0.1?
SO how do get back to the static IP setting from my previus router 192.168.xxx.x??
WHat do I do?

"It"? A router like this normally has two IP addresses: LAN and
WAN/Internet. "192.168.1.1" would be the usual default LAN IP address.> I bought a new netgear from COstco:
And connected it to what?

What, exactly, does "wireless setting" mean to you? Which IP address
is "172.xxx.xxxx"?> I also noticed in the advanced menu......LAN settings........the ip is
> 10.0.0.1?That would suggest that you've connected the WAN/Internet port of
that router to the LAN side of some other router (which is already using
the "192.168.1.*" subnet, so that this router can't).> SO how do get back to the static IP setting from my previus router

What _did_ you do?

That is not a "Static IP" as most people know it. It is the local IP address of your router on your network. The router manages addresses of other devices on your network, all those devices on 192.168.1.X.
This bit is all wrong:

What you did there was to tell your router that it has a fixed IP address on the Internet, not your local network. Most Internet service providers don't provide you with a fixed IP address. You'll get one from the ISPs set of IP addresses. And your IP address will change from time to time.
You have just bought a RAX45. By default that will also have the same IP address as your R6900P. You should not have to do anything to it.
I fear that you are making this very complicated for yourself. Much more messing around and you could do real damage.
If the idea is simply to replace the R6900P with the RAX45, then the process is straightforward. It is a simple case of restarting the whole network in the correct order, including the modem.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
When you start the RAX45, you will have ti take it through the setup routine.
There can be wrinkles in this scenario. You may have to reset the modem so that ti forgets any settings inherited through its relationship with the old router.
A bigger problem can arise if your modem is also a router. You haven't told us what that is. So it is hard to know what you should do there.
This is a warning sign:

Your RAX45 will pick this address for itself if it sees something squatting on the 192.168.1.1 address. That may be because of the fiddling around you have done. Or it may be because your modem is a modem/router. I'd reset the RAX45 before going any further so that it doesn't use that address again.

Take a deep breath. Reset the RAX45 and move forward a step at a time. Think of this as setting up a new network. Restart the process in the order described above.
- artsinghAspirantHi, i have a regular arris cable modem.
My older router is a 6900p.
I will reset everything.
Thank you.> [...] i have a regular arris cable modem.
Not a useful description of anything. An actual model number would
be much better.> > I bought a new netgear from COstco:

Ok with me, but resetting multiple routers would still leave you with
multiple routers. On the other hand, actually answering questions might be helpful.
Look for "?".
