RAX8 will not connect to 192.168.100.1
Does anyone know how to get the RAX80 to connect to my cable modem at IP address 192.168.100.1? I have an Arris SB8220 and the web admin page is at 192.168.100.1. I can ping this IP address successfully. When I try I get an error message that the site can't be reached, see attached screen shot. The RAX80 has the latest FW.
If I disconnect the RAX80 and reboot the cable modem and connect via wired ethernet I can access the admin portal. So it seems to me that the RAX80 is not allowing access. My ISP is Comcast and when I was using the Xfinity cable modem I could get to the CM via 10.0.0.1 address. FYI my RAX is at 191.168.0.1 and my IP range starts at 0.2 and ends at 0.254.
Why would my RAX not connect to the SB8200 address but allow connection to other address outside the range (e.g. 10.0.0.1)?
Has anyone else solved this or is it a bug? the Arris team states it is not their issue. It is very disruptive to disconnect the router and reboot the CM when I want to see the CN logs.
Any support is appreciated
thank you
Update
I reset the IP address range to start at 192.168.1.1 and this fixed my issue.
Thanks so much. I can now get to the CM admin portal via my router.
Nice workI appreciate the support

Disconnect the PC from the router, connect it to the modem. (You may have to restart the PC). Then go in and change whatever you need to change.
In reality, as this is a cable modem, there is nothing that you can change on the modem. (The firmware is beyond your control.) So, the question is, what do you want to do?
If you need to get into the logs to troubleshoot, then removing the router from the equation might be a good idea.

The address 191.168.0.1 is more common with modem routers.
You might have more luck if you set stopped your RAX80 to use the "right" IP address.

The router interprets the addresses thrown at it and directs them to the target.
What are you looking for in the logs that you cannot see in the RAX's logs?

Thanks for the quick response. Here are my replies and my next steps
- disconnecting the PC from the router is not sufficient. I have to disconnect the router also and then reboot my CM so it forgets the router MAC address
- I don't want to change anything on the CM, just look at the logs to see why I am so many disconnects from Comcast.
- I didn't think I could see why the network disconnected in the RAX logs. I look there. thanks for the tip
- I don't know why my IP address starts at 0.1 and not 1.1. I don't recall changing that. I'll change back to 1.1. Maybe I'll do a factory reset of the RAX
- I am still curious why the RAX allowed me to connect to 10.0.0.1 and it will not allow 192.168.100.1. they are both out of range no? I can ping the 100.1 address so why can't the router just connect me?
thanks for all the help. I'll change the RAX IP address range. I am curious to see if that changes anything
